I dont have ant measurments, but i did install 2'' lowering shackles on my lightning and can tell you that with a 2'' you will not get 2''.Everyone is getting about 1-1/2 out of them,so you might manna make them a little longer when you make them. Good luck!

The holes on a 2" lowering shackle are 2" farther apart than your standard shackle. Measure yours and add 2".

Well after waiting for a reply from anyone I decided to fab my own template shackles. I rivited on to existing shackles and chain drilled 9/16 holes so I could keep moving top bolt untill i reached my 2 inch drop. Well I never got the 2 inches I needed in my temp shackles. I ran out of holes the top hole on my template is 3.5 inches from original and it only yielded me a 1.5 inch drop so I will have to move hole 4.5 inches from origianal hole to give me a 2 inch drop. If anyone can measure their 2 inch drop shackles to see if my info is wrong please help me out. Any info is appreciated.

A 2" longer shackle will NOT net you 2". JLP makes a 2-3-4" adjustable shackle that will net you about 3" at the 4" setting. If you've made a shackle that is sturdy and is 4.5" longer and you still haven't netted 2", you're doing something wrong. When you reinstall the shackles, do not tighten the bolts until the weight of the truck is on the tires. Once you put the truck on the ground, bounce it up and down a few times or drive it around the block before tightening up the bolts.

(Wouldn't it have been easier to spend $40 bucks instead?)

Yes I have indeed achieved 2 inches with a 4.5 inch increase on the oem shackle. Didnt have any thing to go from so I had to make temps. I fab part for a living and when its slow at work why not make truck parts and get paid. I like to save a buck or two when I can. I finished permenant ones tonight and will install tomorrow. Will post results.
