What do I have?

I just bought a 2000 F150 ext cab 4x4 Lariat

I can tell my left front wheel bearing is starting to go.

In order to tell what I need to order for parts I guess there's a lot more I need to know about my truck than I do.

How do I find out all the details about my front end, suspension, Abs, etc that I need to know.

(Forgive my lack of knowledge this is my real Ford truck). (And certainly my newest truck.. I'm used to good old carbeurated 2wd pickups.)

Thanks guys

The wheel bearings on 97+ 4x4 IFS suspensions are a sealed non-rebuildable unit. They sell for around $200 each depending what parts stores you have around you. To tell if you have 4 wheel ABS look to see if you have a wire coming off the bearing assembly. The 2 wheel ABS doesn't have this wire. The only other thing you're going to need to know is if you have 12mm or 14mm wheel studs, but since you've got a 2000 you should have 14mm studs. Its only about a 15 min job to replace them. When you order parts just tell them you have a 2000 F150 4x4 with 4wheel ABS and that you need a front wheel bearing assembly. Be prepared to wait for one to be ordered though. I got lucky the 2nd time I had to replace one and they had one in stock, but the first time nobody, not even Ford had one on hand.
