Question 2004 FX4 frnt lift

I want to level(2.5") the front on my 04' screw fx4, but am worried it will wear the cv joints, any suggestions?

dgdee,

Level it anyways. When the CVs go, get a new halfshaft from NAPA with a lifetime guarantee. Mine are cranked up and so far no problem. 115,000 km ( 71,300 mi )

Hi JMC-

My torsion bars are cranked as well. I noticed you appear to do a little off-roading and I was wondering if you have ever had a CV shaft snap on you? What is the quality of the NAPA version compared to the stock Ford?

Thanks much,
Crotteau

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think abusing the truck will do a lot more damage than adjusting the ride height. Daystar and Skyjacker both make 2.5 inch coil spring spacers for the front of 4x2 and 4x4 2004 F-150's.

I have yet to break a CV joint. The aftermarket are warrantied for life. That makes them Better than Ford. CV joints will break when too much torque is applied at extreme angles.
