7700# or Off Road Pkg.???
I iam just wondering what's the difference between the 7700 and the Off Road Pkg.?? What comes with each and opinions on each one, and which one is better. Looking at a 2000 or 2001 F-150.
Hello taz2844,
The 7700 group is a Payload package, the Off-Road package is an Equipment Package. Here are some of the differences. This for the 2001 model year. The 7700 gives you a light duty 3/4 ton truck. I would get the 7700.
7700 Payload Group:
- 3.73 limited slip rear axle with a (4x4), 4.10 with a (2x4)
- 10.25 rear axle
- larger front brakes
- 16" 7-lug wheels and LT245 tires (A/S 4x2, A/T 4x4)
- heavy-duty frame
- HD shock absorbers
- Heavy-Duly Electrical/Cooling with automatic transmission
4x4 Off-Road Equipment Group:
- 3.55 rear axle ratio
- (8.8) rear axle, with 4.6 engine
- (9.75) rear axle, wiht 5.4 engine
- 4x4 Off-Road decal
- P265/70Rx17SL OWL all-terrain tires
- 17" cast aluminum wheels
- HD shock absorbers
- skid plates (fuel tank, transfer case and frame front crossmember)
