try fabritec, that might be the kit from broncograveyard, but you won't find anything there for a 97+ f-150, only 96 and older. try national tire, http://www.natltire.com/ntw0799/page...abritech-47857 although it doesn't specify for this one where to get the solid axle. You might have to buy one yourself. If you do, get a dana 44, that will be the best and most economical. If you are going all out, get a high clearence Dana 60. That is the strongest front axle made. Good luck, and keep us updated!

I thought about doing the same thing to my truck (maybe when its all paid for). But if you still want to use it for a daily driver I say forget about it. Unless you like torture. One other thing that you need to think about that they didn't mention on their site. And that is if you go with this swap you have to convert the rear axle to the same bolt pattern as the front, or replace the rear axle (this would be my choice). The 97 and newer F150s have a 5 on 135mm bolt pattern and a Dana 44 will have a 5 on 5 1/2" bolt pattern and a Dana 60 should have an 8 on 6" pattern.

Acctually, you can get a Dana 60 with a 5x5.5" bolt pattern now. But you are right, powerstroke, the rear would still have to be replaced or you'd have to get new axles. I don't think you can even get old axles out of a late 80's ford with an 8.8" rear because I'm pretty sure they were splined differently. I guess you get get a completely new rearend from an old ford. If you want to be REALLY hardcore, I'd go with front and rear Dana 60's, both the new high clearence type with a 5x5.5" bolt pattern so that you can have more choices of rims. Of course, if you go with Dynatrack, the main company making custom axles, that'd be $4k per axle, plus the kit from fabritech, $2k, plus shocks, wheels, and tires, That's a $12-15K investment. Ohh and install would be another couple of K's...bottom line...not worth it unless you want to through your money around...in that case, can you through some my way

Wow a 5 lug Dana 60!! Never ever heard of those let alone seen one. I think I would still go with an 8 lug Dana 60, and you're right. Go 60's front and rear high clearance. For a really bullet proof rear end a Dana 70 out of a late 70s F-350.

lol, I think you'd have to have 35's just to keep that dana 70 from dragging on the ground! , but you still wouldn't break it!

Bet they weren't full floater Dana 60s. Thats one of the bigger reasons I want one. IMO easier to work on. But I would still go with an 8 lug, also easier to find around here. 2 1/2 tons military axles would make one HECK of an offroad truck. Have to call the dentist after riding in it. Shake all your teeth out.
