Body Lift Decreases Value?
Well, I just got my lift put on turns out my problem was that the machine cut the steering extension wrong so getting new on monday. Other than that there is no problems. Yes, your liner makes it a bitch to do. There is a signigicant difference in height trust me i'll get my pics soon. I will recomend getting LIPS for it. And no there is no change in motor or any other thing cuz ur just lifting the body not touching anything else. But, maybe raise the fan shroud but nothing to hurt anything. Sounds like he just doesn't want to do it they can be a bitch to install.

Sounds to me like he's blowing smoke. You don't change anything with the engine besides modifying the fan shroud. The only way you might have a problem is when you lift it the radiator would be right behind the bumper and have some air blocked going to it, but this is easily fixed with electric fans. The rhino liner will be a problem for putting the lift in if it was sprayed over the bolts in the bed. Rhino liner is really tough stuff. But sounds like hes just being lazy, your lift won't change ANYTHING in the driveline, all you're doing is lifting the body off the frame.

hes blowing smoke up your a$$ because it is going to be a bitch to put on with the bedliner. the body lift wont be any harder on your truck than original, what makes it a little harder on your engine and tranny is the change of tire size. this problem can be overcome by matching the tires with a lower set of gears for your rearend. all i can suggest is to get a second opinion from another shop. worse comes to worse, you could always have the shop just rip the liner around the bolts off, then have those areas re-sprayed. good luck!

He's full of it it can't void warrenties, check into the magnesson-moss warrenty act. Bedliner is a bitch but he could cut around the bolts or touch it with the torch and melt it, then you touch it up later. Get the body lift installed, but have it done by a different shop.

My last F150 had a Rhino Liner before I installed the body lift. The guy who shot the liner told me to simply cut around the bolts with a sharp utility knife. He said that since they don't take a grinder to the bolts, only the paint, it should easily come off and it did. It was easy to cut around the bolts, because the factory bolts are round (torx). He said I could come back and they could reapply the liner to the holes, but I never did. It didn't really look bad, and since I had a shell, I wasn't too concerned with moisture getting in.
As far as value, check out your local paper or truck trader for similar trucks on sale with lifts. You'll find that the decreasing value statement isn't true.....

I would have to agree with everything above. Besides, you Rhino Liner can be resprayed in the spots where the holes were cut for the bolts. No, the **** won't be torn out of the bed if the body shop knows what they are doing.
Unless you trust this shop, go somewhere else or look into doing it yourself.

Yesterday I went over to my local body shop to see how much they would charge me to put a body lift on. They prices me $400 with everything including the lift lips. As I was there I began talking to the owner of the shop to see what he had to say about the lift. He told me that since I have a sprayed in bed liner over my bed bolts that he was going to have to "tear the **** out of it" to get the lift on. He said it would leave permant holes in my bed liner making it look "like ****". He also said that the lift would decrease the value of my truck when I decide to trade or sell it. He said he did not recommend putting one on at all. He went on and on about how it would void certain parts of my warranty and how the lift wouldn't even make a noticeable change. He told me that it would be hard on my motor, transmittion, and everything in my truck to put this lift on. Is he really telling the truth? I mean if the Body Shop is telling me this bad stuff about their own product, then really how bad is a Body lift for my truck. All the quotes I put in this message are HIS EXACT WORDS!! Was this guy just having a bad day or is this true that it will mess my whole truck up??!?!? Please help, anyone! Thanks.

Decreasing value could be true depending on what the truck is going to be used for. I am keeping mine for a long time so all this add ons are increasing value from my point of view and personal taste.
Body lift will not hinder performance by itself (not very noticeable). But, since it is taller you will have a larger frontal area so you will have more drag. But this is not suppose to be a big difference. Now, taller and wider tires with no changes in your gears will make the biggest impact in performance and fuel economy but this is another modification and no part of the body lift.
Body lifts installations are very time consuming and pricey but try to get a second opinion. Have you considered doing it yourself? It's fun at the same time if you have the tools, needed space and patience. Friends could help.
Good luck in your quest.
