I used an add-a-leaf and an angled 4in block to raise the back. I did not have to modifiy the drive-shaft it all hooked-up.
For exterior mods all I had done was have the front air dam, cowl cover by the wipers and the tailgate handle painted to match. The Prep and Paint for all was only $175. And my Billet antenna and grill ran less that $125 for both. And the lift I used was a Modified Pro Comp kit.
I also have no rubbing with out trimming and thing. Actually my turing radius increased cause now the tires are pushed out further away from the frame. But I did need a steering dampner to help turn the Swampers. Good luck on your lift.
Hey Split,
I got my truck done at my buddies shop called LEADING EDGE CUSTOMS. I roll around Yorba Linda all the time, I actually bought my truck at Yorba. And I study at Fullerton. I also noticed you Board we should go up some time. Late.

Sorry Aaron but, there is no Roll Bar and I'm not really sure what you saw in the pics.

Cool

Wadup Silver 39,
Sounds like your a student, as am I...the only difference is I studdy at Saddleback college in Southern Orange County. I had a couple questions about the PAINT, like where did you have it done? I also have a silver truck that looks similar to yours, cept mine is lifted due to lack of funds, and time, but I want to get some stuff smoothed out and I like how you painted your lower valance and back behind the cab....I also wanted to know if you would send me some information on the new Pro Comp kit....I live like 30 minutes from you and im in the process of putting a full system in my car, and next comes the lift. Please email me: zeke180@yahoo.com

Id love to talk online or over the phone about the paint stuff. Thank you

Thanks for the input. How is the ride with the add a leaves? Harsh?

And regarding the shaft, I noticed that when I did the installation of my 3" blocks it came out from the transmission tail like when the suspension is working up and down. It is supposed to worked like that but there is a limit. I have been looking around in the boards for this (limit) information with no success hoping that someone will know. We'll see.

Hey JMTruck,

The ride is not as bad as it may seem with the add-a-leafs. Ya, its alittle more rough than stock but, the ride is still very sweet. The blocks that I had to use for the rear were not just normal flat blocks. They were angled blocks to help relieve the tension and to give more play with the drive shaft and rear end. The angled blocks tilts the rear end upward to hook-up with the drive shaft much easier. No problems here, hope everything hooks-up with your truck.

Thanks Silver39, and yes the blocks that I have are Superlift blocks (tappered) to compensate the new angle. That's fine, but I am still thinking on how far (tall) can we go without having to extend the drive shaft.

See you around and don't crush anyone out there.

Question

Wow! How do you get into that thing?!
Unless you have a hidden step or ladder of some sort, or are tall, I am at a loss.

I guess I seem to notice those things being veritcally challenged!

Actually,
My gas mileage did not change that much at all. With the regearing, Superchip and all of the other little MODS I get about 12-15 Highway and 10-12 on surface streets. Thats only when I'm not on the pedal...which is very rare. Not to bad, but I do have to use 92 octane to get the benefits of the Superchip. But I can really care less about my milage, just as long as I keep getting the stares...I'm set.

SSAAAAWWWEEEEEETTTTTTTT!!!!!!!

Nice job.
I saw a new Ram 1500 4x4 ext cab on 44s with about 2 feet of lift. It was freakin' huge. About wrecked my truck looking at it. My friend has a 99 Ram on 39s, and he saw the same truck I did, but the day before. He said he about ***** himself.

In case any of you live in the Tampa Bay area...it's that new metallic blue color, ext cab, sport, on 44's. Can't miss it. Must have all been custom work. I don't even think it had a body lift...not that I could see. Had Westin black straight step bars too. Not real sure how he and his woman got in it, but they were really up there. The bottom of his door was about even with my roof on my truck.

Redridinghood,

I didn't want to put Nerf bars on my truck cause I wanted to keep the truck looking a "CLEAN" as possible and as high as possible. And yes I too am vertically challenged.

Offroad Guy,

The actual cost of the lift, tires & wheels, and regearing did not cost as much as you may think. I got the lift done at my buddies shop, LEADING EDGE CUSTOMS, so I helped with some of the labor and really only had to pay for parts. It came to about $3000 for everything....few dollars here and there for final touch ups. All in all I got a pretty sweet deal and lovin every minute Im in my ride. Thanx for the compliments.
