Problem with shock bolts.

Is anyone experiencing a problem with lower shock bolts?
I have a 98 light duty with gabriel shocks. When the truck hits a bump the front end rattles, there is also a soundslike washers bangin together. I have came to a conclusion or guess that the sound is from the shock bolt and the shock sleeve making contact. The shock bolt is threaded, the sleeve has enough play now that the contact has actually put deep imprints of the bolt threads into the sleeve. Does anyone know a fix to this problem, or have experienced this same thing?

Thanks, Josh

Hello joshrobertson72,

I had a similar problem with the Trailmaster shocks I purchased, the lower bushings and metal sleeves in the bushing on the rear shocks where to large, for a 9/16" bolt. The bolts' I had were 1/2", so I replaced the bushing and the sleeves and fixed the problem.

I just bought some new shocks today, bilstein's and new shock bolts from ford. I'll try that and see what happens.
