Post Do not use ProComp shocks!

A friend of mine who has a 95 Z-71 recently switched to the ProComp shocks, and shortly after that we were doing donuts in some mud & the right rear shock pretty much crushed & came loose. This was about two months ago, and again today we were mudding and the same thing happend again, and again on the right rear. Both times this happend we did nothing to warrant breaking a shock.

Bottom line, don't waste your time w/ ProComp.

I have Pro Comp ES3000 and I off road a bit, my friend has a 4x4 suburban with the 6 inch procomp lift and he off roads it like crazy. I had mine for a month hes had his for many months. Nothing wrong at all, if the shock came loose then the install was a faulty, not the shock itself. I've been very pleased with ProComps and haven't had anything or heard of anything faulty with them until now.

My '93 Ranger has a 5 1/2" ProComp lift and i am very pleased. It never had ANY problems, even after i jumped it. I had the lift on for 6 months then i totalled the truck, but for the 6 months it performed great! I am considering ProComp for my 150 (maybe RCD though) Don't know what happened w/ your friend.

JDM might be right on the money...if he bought or recieved the wrong sized shock, for the wrong sized lift then its bound to get screwed up.

My friends truck isn't lifted. y'all may be right about it bottoming out befor hitting the axle stop. I really don't think the install was faulty though.

Sounds to me like his shocks are bottoming out before the axle hits the bumpstop.
