Post Torsion Bar Questions

I amd looking at everyone's post who cranked their torsion bars. I am just wondering if there are any long term effects to doing this. Also how is the ride affected. I am putting BFG A/Ts (285/75R16) on my truck this summer wondered about cranking torsion bars for a nice appearance.

Thumbs up

I cranked mine up yesterday. Two turns of the bolt for 1 inch of lift at the fender, directly over the axle on my SCrew. I wasn't even thinking about it this morning when on my normal drive to work I noticed the truck drove and handled noticeably better. Even if I install a lift later, I'm going to keep the extra tension on the bars for the above reasons.

I'm a new owner (honestly one of the reasons I bought my truck was because of this site) and have thought of the same thing...mainly to level out the stock "low" front end. Did you have to do any re-alignment or anything. (I know nothing about ifs but now looks like I'm going to learn).

There is an absolute ton of info on this board on torsion bar/front suspension tweaks. Do a search. I just did it myself, along with an alignment. It is here... https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/001591.html
