Wink RCD vs. Fabtech

I just joined and have read some of the other posts and am curious about one thing. I am in the process of getting a 2001 F-150 and would like to put either the RCD 6 inch lift or the Fabtech 6.5 inch lift on. I would also like to put 35 inch tires on as well. Which one retains the best ride and will fit the tires with the least amount of alteration. Did any one have to extend there drive shafts. Which engine should I get if I plan on lifting it and putting these size tires on it.
Thanks for any help!

No question hands down, RCD. They havent been around "as a company" as long as fabtech, but they are SOOOOOOOOOO duraible(sp) and they have a way better on street ride and suspension flex then fabtech. Save up, get the better all around choice.

I was thinking about the siver one actually with the 4.6 v-8 because of the gas mileage. Do you know if you can fit 35 inch tires with the RCD. Do you have an RCD lift.

I'd have to agree with Kial on everything he said except the choice of lift kits. I can only speak about the Fabtech because that's what I have. So far, it's been great! Don't even know anyone who's got the RCD lift kit on so I can't say good or bad about it, I guess. I didn't have to extend my driveline and have no problem with vibrations or pinion angle. I personally really like the somewhat stiffer ride I got after installing the Fabtech kit... my truck now rides like a truck should, not like a big, overloaded Cadillac or something! For my money, it's Fabtech!

Kial, do you have a lift on your own truck yet? If you do and it's RCD, how much was it?

Thanks

eron-

I installed an RCD 5" (they don't make a 6" for the 4x4) with 35" tires on my 2000 F-150 a couple of weeks ago. So far, it rides great.

Python... I noticed from your pics you have stock upper control arms. Where does the 5 inches of lift come from? Is it all spindles?

Thanks!

Hey JonC how does your truck handle the lifted tires. Did it slow it down a lot or does it still do fairly well on hills and acceleration. Also what is your gas mileage like. Who installed your lift and how much did it cost for the tires and all if you don't mind giving up that information. Did you have to do any fender trimming with the tires? Are 315 about the same size as 35 inch tires?
