Question spindle lift on 4x2

Hi Guys. Has anybody out there put on a FabTech 3.5" spindle lift on a 4X2? I want to put this lift on and also swap my 265/75/16 Firestones for the BFG 285/75/16. I have been told that stock wheels will not fit with this spindle lift because of the back spacing. The 265's fit fine on stock 6 spoke wheels and I hope the 285's will too. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advance.

BlueFish-

I just put this lift on...that is a myth about the wheels not fitting. 4 Wheel parts told me the same thing, and ORU in Burbank (who did my lift) couldn't understand why they would say that. You have to change the wheels only if you do the A-Arm and coil kit as well. The Fabtech brochure is very clear that Stock Rims will work with the Spindle lift, but with the 6.5" (or 7" now) you need aftermarket wheels with 4 5/8 backspacing.

I just had the 3.5's put on with my stock rims. I am running 265's, and just got my pictures today. I will have them up tonight, so I will post as soon as I by around 10 pm pacific....

The 265 and 285s do fit the stock rims......Look at eagle rims, they are pretty inexpensive..oh and be warned...once you start to lift it is very habit forming....seek medical help before it is too late for you....Its to late for me I am very addicted....Welcome to the site by the way.....DAVE

here are a couple of pics...kind of blurry. More on my website. I want to finish off with a few more inches of lift and bigger tires this summer..unless my girlfriend decides to leave me...then I'll have to make a decision on which is more important...

hmmmm, that was easy.

Thumbs up

Hey guys, thanks!! Its good to hear that I can keep my stock wheels, I can't afford: wheels, tires, and a lift all at once. How much was the lift and how much to get installed? I figure the BFG's will run about $150 per tire. I pull different boats, and I did not notice a difference when I upped tire sizes from 235's to 265's. Do you think that my low end torque will be that much affected when I go to the 285's? I would hate to be stuck at the ramp. At least I would be in a good looking truck! Thanks for the previous info and also welcoming aboard the site. I try to surf the site everynight , but sometimes the wife.... well, you know. Talk to yall soon.

The price was $1000 with shocks, blocks, spindles and alignment.

I also tow boats, and have the same worries if I go up another couple of tire sizes...I don't want to get new gears for the truck. I don't think we will see much difference with 285's, but definately with 35's.

InfiniteMhz-

I believe the measurement is 39.5" from the ground to the fender, but let me double check tomorrow, I'll post it here.

Thanks DGREEN Well, the lift is first, then the tires. I'm shopping around for the best price on the lift now. I'll post some pics once it is done. DAVENSA, you were right. I am addicted and I haven't even lifted it yet.I am already catching myself thinking of a 3" body lift when I'm done with the spindle lift. I do appreciate you guys helping me out here. It is nice to get some info from some guys who have actually been through it themselves. I just hope I don't have to wait as long as Mudder for the lift, I now know what he went through. Bluefish97
