Question What Kind of Shocks to Get?

I would like to replace the shocks on my F150, but wanted to get recommendations from everyone.

2000 F-150 V6 2WD

I was thinking about the Edelbrock ISA shocks. Any thoughts? I want to notice a dramatic improvement over the way it bobs around currently.

Thanks!
Melissa

I just put Rancho RSX on my 4x4. I love them! No more bobbing around and barely any body roll now. Feels more like a sports car than anything else.

Question

rockycarl,

Did you get the adjustable ones that Rancho sells?

Thanks,
Melissa

Cool

I put the Procomp ES3000's. Their really comfortable on the highway yet stiff when off roading. I also have procomp tires that are also great.

The ES3000's are inexpenxive. I have had both Rancho and Procomp. Both were great.

luvmytruck,

The Rancho RSX shocks are similiar to the edelbrock you were looking at, only about $100 less expensive though! The have the same proportioning valve system. The shocks react based on compression of the shock itself. I love these Racho's, the truck doesn't have near the body roll it had before!

luvmytruck:

Thanks for asking this question. I too am interested to know what works and what doesn't. With these mods on my truck I push it more often and notice the roll more as well.

Cool

I recently installed the Rancho RS9000s and love the results. I played around with the settings and really enjoy picking my own; especially the rears when towing/hauling. I also installed front and rear Hellwig anti-sway bars. Just to pass on some results, I wanted to tell others that the front bar made by far the most improvement. Good Luck !!

Thumbs up

I tried the Edelbrocks and thought they were very nice shocks but not enough to warrant there cost. They helped with body roll a bit but not all that much to me. I returned them and got the Rancho 9000's with the in cab dual remote. I do adjust them all the time depending on the situation. They are great shocks and am very satisfied with them. Highly recommend them.

Cool

Waldo0506,

Wow, cool truck. However, I don't think I need any shocks quite like that. I keep my truck strictly on the road. I am just looking for something to help with the bumpiness and roll.

GREAT TRUCK!!!
