how do i get the shackles on?

how do i get the shackles on?
i jsut bought some 2" shackles for my 98 f150.
i tried to get the driver side shackle off and i cant. got the bolts loosened but they wont come out and now it has moved and wont go back in. do you have to take the whole leaf off or what?

hey svt, to get the shackles off u must place the back end of the truck on jack stands(back wheels off the ground)then put a jack under the rear housing,jack it up slow untill you take the tension off the leaf spring,and u can wiggle the shackle up and down.
Once this is done pull the bottom bolt out, the leaf spring should raise up with the shackle holding onby the top bolt.
You might have to jack it up a little more to get the top bolt out.
When you put it back together put top bolt back in other direction,makes it a lot easier.
