Lightning on an XL or 2-4 drop pic

Will stock lightning shocks fit on my 2003 single cab XL? If they fit, do i have to get new shocks? And whats the best was to lower the rear of the truck 3 inches? Will i need shims?, if so 2 or 4degress? I think i will need some new chocks for rear the for sure. Im looking for a 1-3 drop. If you cant answer any of those questions, do you have any pics of a 2-4 drop on your truck?

It is said that dropping the rear 2" does not require new shocks. Easily accomplished with shackles.

The "best" is up to you to decide in terms of how to get there. What sort of ride quality you desire and what your plans are in terms of towing and hauling, if any. By using Western Chasis hangers and Belltech shackles I brought mine down 3" in the rear.

The Lightning springs will fit in there and "should" drop the truck 1". I used "L" springs with one coil removed to get 2.75" of drop in the front of my truck, which is a V6 Supercab XL. The heavier V8 would get a bit lower doing the same thing. You can find my pics in the gallery named sacto.

I really want to get mine down 4" in the rear, but until I get new tires (lower profile) and figure out exactly what I want to do with the front, 3" looks best for now. I had it at 4" but moved it up.

I bought 4 degree shims which I need (slight vibration from 0-20mph), but I've not yet put them in.
