Post lower, slightly softer, but better?????

Is it possible to lower my truck (2000 F-150 reg cab) about 1 to 2 inches, get a softer ride, and make it handel better????

Is there a progressive spring for a ford truck?

What should I do about the rear, in an effort to attain the same results as listed above?

just a topic for conversation

You can easily lower the rear 2" using longer shackles. A 2" drop levels the front and back when unloaded. The shackles attach between the rear of the leaf spring and the frame. The cost is about $60 or $70, and many performance shops or parts stores will stock name brands like Bell-tech. It is a do-it-yourself job, but you will need some jackstands and a floor jack.

Also, on my truck, Ford installed two of the shackle bolts in such a way that they had to be cut to be removed. I had to replace these bolts with grade 8 bolts from the hardware store. It is better to know about this before you get the truck jacked up

Cool

I did not drop, but I did do shocks and front & rear anti-sway bars. Just wanted to pass on that the front bar made, by far, the most difference. Good Luck !!

I just ordered a 2-4 drop from Ground Force. I'll be happy to let you know the results.

Thumbs up

Eibach makes a 1 1/2" drop progressive spring. Very good quality.
