Post Front hub nut PITA!

Does anyone know what size the hub nut is?
I tried the sockets 1"1/2 to big, 1"1/4 to small. Until I get this off I can't continue with the Rancho suspension lift install. Thanks GUYS!

Grabbed my Haynes manual immediately and to my surprise no indication on the hub nut size. Very similar to what happen to me with the body lift instructions, lots of nuts sizes surprises that I did not have available in my toolbox. Got me in a run to the store to buy some sockets and borought some from the neighbors.

Rancho should be able to help you, but today sunday I wish you that someone can reply with the answer so you can continue. I am interested in knowing that size as well.

I know the for the older style 4x4's the auto parts places carried a socket for this in the Help! section. I don't know if the newer trucks are still the same design or not though.

I'm sure you have solved it by now... and the answer was... METRIC.

After three days and working on it for about three hours a day all I have left to do is the rear suspension. The front hub nut was 36 mm. These nuts and bolts on the 150 is all messed up. Some nuts and bolts are either metric or sae. What a workout it was/is. I'll post some pics as soon as I'm done. Front end looks awesome!

Wink

Hey Y2K, I know its probably a pain, but please give lots of details about this endeavor, like what all tools are involved, what were the hardest tasks to do, and last but not least, plenty of pictures! I bet it looks awesome, and best of luck to ya.

Question

Y2K Hawaiian Lariat:
I noticed that you have a Rancho steering stabilizer. Does the stabilizer improve general steering i.e. better on-center feel driving on the H1/H2/H3, or is it intended purely for off road control?

I would love to know how you removed the front hub. The bearings are pressed in aren't they?
