last week i had to load up my truck with about 3,000 lbs of manufactured stones and since then i get a funny clunk sound when i turn and go over a bump. Does anyone know what that is.

I would first check the shocks, then the spring mounts. You overloaded the truck by about 1200-1400 lbs.

3,000 on a half-ton, huh...a little much...i overload my truck every now and then, but try to stay around the 2,000 mark...a friend of mine loaded a bunch of creek rock onto his truck, 97 F-150, and got the clunking sound, also...seems he had bent a spring and every time he gassed it, the spring got in a bind and had to pop back into place...had to get a new spring from the dealer...if you do this often, you may want to consider some helper springs....i still don't suggest going that heavy even with helpers on...hope it's not too expensive, Rich

depending on the payload you ordered, you could go up to 2350 in 99.
I have one of those and I have loaded it up to that figure numerous times.
recently a persistent squeak developed at 15k miles.
Ford is going to completely replace the rear springs since they looked and found that the insulators between the leaves disintegrated.
