Thumbs up Rancho RS5000, nice improvement!

Man I love these things, and I only have them on the front so far! I got fed up with the Monroes rattling the front susp. to pieces, and put the 5000's on last Tuesday. The ride is smoother, rebounds less, handling improved too, but the urethane end link kit that was put on the same day might have something to do with that. The truck feels like one piece again!! The highway manners are much improved, too. Less thumping from pavement breaks, etc. Even rough gravel parking lots seem smooth now. The only question is why did I wait so long to buy them in the first place?? Monroe Reflex's went in the trash after less than a year,,,,98

Gonna get the rears soon, maybe a couple of weeks when I get back home?

Is there a offroading/truck shop in Greenville, SC??

Thats cause we're all masacistic (sp?)

Good to know above the Ranchos. I thought Monroe owned Ranchos and that the senso-trac was just a re-labled 5000. Guess I'm wrong. I tried Rancho on my GMC 1-ton with a 6" lift, but the ride was so bad with those springs that I didn't give them a fair reveiw. Let us know how the truck rides with the rears installed too!

I thought that MF was Master Fabricator ??

I'm glad you like the shocks, they are on my list too but would still like to do some other things first.

Thanks for your review.

Thumbs up

Well, I had the Monroe "reflex" before. Same shaft size, but the body of the shock was a bit smaller. Maybe it was the white color vs. the gold color reflex making an optical illusion? It did surprise me that the Ranchos were not the "gas charged" style shocks, the ones that are strapped down, and extend when the straps are cut. It's been a LONG time since I had to manually extend a shock for installation, but with this ride I wasn't going to complain.,,,,98

MAN, Greenville is a small city It seems like every store is on one street.....

Glad to hear you like them. The difference is amazing. I like the confident feeling I get when cornering.

98SCREAMER:

Do you have a 4x4 or 2wd? I ask because I have a 2wd, so what might feel good for the 4x4 may feel a little rough for my 2wd...

Thank's you MF'r...

I got a 2wd you SOB, LMAO! I also reduced my tire pressure and changed end links at the same time, but it really rides nicer with less rattling and less jerk in the steering wheel.,,,,98
