Post Edelbrock IAS shocks?

Can someone give me their opinion on these IAS shocks? Are they worth the money, etc.
I know the Edelbrock name is quite famous!

Thanks in advance!

Cool

I have them on my truck and they are great, on and off the road. They are definitely worth the money.

I have heard mostly good things about them.

I personally like the Rancho 9000s since you can customize the shock setting to what you want. I think that they are on average $10 per shock less than the edelbrocks also.

I think there is quite a thread running somewhere here, and everyone responding pretty much agrees that it's a big improvement over stock. I have them too, but I'd agree with Matt90GT on the Rancho 9000's if the prices are the same. I just got mine for $42 each, so I couldn't pass it up.

For the price they are selling, very disapointing.
Was skeptical of Ranchos specially the RSX and I am happy with the ride.

If your stockers are wearing out, the Edelbrocks will be a big improvement, but if your stockers are new, the Edelbrocks are better, but not earth shattering. The biggest improvement is reduction in body roll.

I like the Edelbrocks, but if I were doing it again I would be tempted to try the Ranchos.

Talking

$300 bucks plus installation, I would hope
the ed's would be enough to let you drive on
water. Seriously though, I been debating whether to get the ed's or the new Monroes
that claim to have the same results. Any body
used the Monroes yet? I have a 2wd,but have been accused of driving it offroad. The dealers reason for my door cracks! What a bunch of idiots, lmao

I can consider myself full of opinions in the shock department. As of today I have tried the Rancho RSX,Rancho RS9000, and Edelbrocks in the last 45 days on my 2001 Supercrew 4x4 in a (expensive) quest for the best ride. Here is my opinion:
-Rancho RSX-
Liked the ride alot except for the lack of rebound on some sharp bumps.Seemed to allow tire to hop a little to much.Good off road and racing around back roads. Not so hot with heavily loaded bed.
-Rancho RS9000-
Great straight line freeway control.Did well off road.Nice to be able to adjust for loads in rear. Not as smooth as the RSX's around town.Played with all the 5 positions and found 3 to be best.Shocks threw pasengers more with side to side motions.Rougher at slow speed compaired to RSX's.More feedback through wheel.
-Edlebrocks-
The idea you "get what you pay for" applies here.I love these shocks. Had them on my 99 Jeep TJ and hated them. They were noisy and my first set had to be replaced because of leaking.Eventually went with Rancho RS900.So you can see my reservation about going back to the Edelbrocks.I took the plunge yesterday and havent looked back yet. These shocks are the way to go. Smoother than the RS9000 at low speeds and dont allow the tire to dance around like the RSX did.I have not been able to four wheel with them yet, but I had no complaints in my Jeep equiped with them.On the freeway last night I smiled all the way home... My work here is done )

I have not tried the monroes, but the tire guys here that I trust, say that they are raving about them in magazine test. Price seems fair for them.

I got em and liked em. I ordered them from carparts.com with that 1/3 off promotion, so the set of 4 only cost me 200 bucks, and I installed them myself. Only about 3 hours of work. So to me they are worth it. Now if I spent mor money then that on them I wouldn't have been that impressed. But they do reduce body roll much better then the stock shocks.

Gofish- What exactly is this 27 dollar rebate that you are talking about? Because I was planning on going with the RSX's on my truck but if the Ed's are about the same price then I'll just have to step up.

How do the Ed's hold up under load, because I have a 95 suburban thats in dire need of shocks but it does get loaded down on ski trips etc.

Had Edelbrocks on my 97 Explorer, and after 3000 miles, put them on my 2000 Expedition.

I concur, "you get what you pay for", and I love these shocks! Very little body roll and evens out the harshest bumps and holes.

ilmagill,

I don't know how it'll perform under a load like yours. Jmartinb's experience might be more relative, since mine is a 150. and I had to call that number (1-800-739-3737) on Kptaylor's link to get my rebate form. They didn't come with the shocks.
