CR1 & Texas Ag~
hey, i've had several people tell me that you can't use the factory wheels if you have the spindle lift, but it appears that both of y'all are. have you had any clearance problems?

Hey, J_Rock, The instructions that came with the spindles said the same thing, but I have not had any problems with clearance. I do have different factory rims (5 spokes, pic on my website). I also have 275/70/16 tires, but soon I am going to get some 285/75/16's when I get my coils, arms, and shocks. Everybody says that I will have to change my rims for that lift too, but I really like my stock rims, so we'll see about that. Worst case, I will just get some wheel spacers (about $150) instead of buying a whole new set of rims.

J_Rock-
What kind of clearance problems are you talking about? I sit up 3" higher now, is that a problem?

As for the stock wheels, I haven't had any problem that I know of. If I knew what kind of potental problem I might have I could give you some more info.

Everything seems fine for now. I'm about to get new wheels and rubber anyway.

Dirtracker,
In answer to your earlier post, Axle wrap is what happens when your axle turns a little with your tires. When you hit the gas everything in the truck torques a little. Thats where axle wrap comes from. That is also what gives you wheel hop. Ok this is hard to explain but i'm gonna try. The axle is held in place by two things, the yoke at the differential to drive shaft, and the leaf springs. When you hit the gas hard the axle turns a little bit with the tires, and in doing so your leaf springs go from a "U" shape to a slight "S" shape. When the spring goes to this shape it tries to correct itself by returning to the "U". This causes the axle to hop. The way to correct that is by using a "Ladder Rack" or something of the sort. It connects to your frame and then to the top and bottom of your axle. This makes it so the axle cannot spin at all. Thus eliminating all those problems. Ok, now if that made no sense just ignore me because I have no idea what I'm saying. I think I read it in some truck mag.

The reason you are having this problem I think is because the fact that the block you put on there is giving the axle a little more leverage and making everything move around more back there. Hope that helps and sorry for the long post.
