If you have a 97,98,99 Light Duty F250 4x4 please supply me with the following information. On your door panel sticker there should be a series of codes at the bottom. Under the heading SPR, what is your code. Examples 8N, 7Y. Please let me know.

Question

Thats weird. Its usually a number then a letter. If so, the six is what I need in this case. What is the GVWR on your door panel (7700?). The 64 was under SPR right?
This would make your rear springs code 4, what ever that means. By the way, the light duties do have torsion bars right?

Thanks,
snowball

Snowball,

I just took a peek at my door sticker and the code that I have for "SPR" is "8Y". I have the load leveling suspension and the heavy load pkg on my F250 LD. To answer your other question, yes the F250 LD uses a torsion bar front suspension just like the F150.

FYI: The torsion bar is only in the 4X4. Not in the 4X2's. No need for it in the 4X2. Suspension technicality as there is no room for the spring in the front of a 4X4 due to the axle coming through there so they "spring" it with a torsion bar. But you all have 4X4's so you have torsion bars.
