cphilip, thanks for the reply,i did not know 4x4 Lariats, did not come w/ ORP,I THOUGHTwhen purchaseing a Lariat 4x4 it came with it,at least all the ones on the lots seemed to have it.anyway your postes always seem informative and i hope to be buying a LIGHTING,THOUGH I dought it, i might give it a try .

 

Well you could get the ORP package in a lariat in 97 but you still didn't get the sticker. It was an option but not standard on the 4X4 one. It seems all Lariat 4X4's now come with at least a 4X4 sticker if not the 4X4 ORP sticker when applicable. I bought mine used from a lease turn in that a local golf course had on a 24/24. So I was not able to opt for the ORP. Luckily they had gotten the skid plate package so it was easier to do after the fact. So I just had to make one out of it. But I got a considerable discount for it having 24K on it. Paid 24K for a 30K truck. and just spent another 1K upgrading it to a ORP. When I traded it two and a half years and 24K later i got almost 20K for it.

Yes, a Lightning would be sweet huh? How about a 4X4 lightning if the made one? Too Sweet!

 

Not an expert on lifts but I do not think a spring is the answer. It will decrease the down travel witha load but I dobt it will come into paly on raising anything much. I wonder what a 97 ORP measured. Its possible you are within spec for the 97 and they have done something to the design to end up with the extra heigth in 2000. Wish I had mine here to measure for you. I wonder what they each measure at the pumpkin? that would tell you if the body mounting is just higher on that 2000.

cphilip,i went to the local ford store,to check on hight,from ground to bottom of rear wheel well on a 2000 f150 lariat,measured 40"mine measures 38.5", would adding a leaf spring help?
