SuperSprings?
Has anyone heard of Supersprings? I noticed them on the Truck Performance Center website (www.truckperformance.com/cgi-bin/tpc.supersprings.pl?+FORD+ANY+PICKUP).
They're supposed to upgrade load capacity by 1200 pounds, and mount above the stock springs.
Anyone have these or ever used them? How did you like them?
Thanks,
Mike

They claim to ADD load capacity while Hellwig helper springs claim to ADD load LEVELLING capacity. Both "strengthen" the rear leaves but do nothing to the other parts of the suspension system, like the axle bearings, and brakes (supposedly tuned for the GVWR). How can Superspring add load capacity when they do the same thing (in a different way) than Hellwigs? For up to 300 dollars for only 1200 lbs, Hellwigs looks like a better buy. About 250 bucks for LP-35, which has 3500 lbs capacity. But if someone could tell me why Superspring can actually increase GVWR, then atleast that guarrantees safe overloads, unlike Hellwig which urges not to load vehicle over GVWR.

I'd seen on the SuperSpring site that they claim to help level the load as well. Also claim to function partly as a rear stabilizer.
Are the Hellwig LP-35s compatible with the F-150. I only see LP-35 applications for the F-250 and up. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Mike

I would also like to know if they are compatible for a '99 F-250LD. I have either been thinking of putting an add-a-leaf in to raise the rear and help with load capacity, and, or air bags. Which brand is better?

I am too lazy to check the LP-35 if its compatible with the F-150. But I am pretty sure that the LP-25 is compatible, I believe the capacity is either 2500 or 3000 lbs which is itself a bit of an overkill anyways. I myself wouldn't dare to overload the truck by more than 1000 lbs. Although MRBBQMAN claims to put 3K payload on their company truck (4.2l 4x2) everyday, with Hellwig overloads and LT E-rated tires and no problems yet at 90,000 (I think). Hellwig makes airbags too which looks like an easy install (just clamps, no drilling). I am looking in the heavier duty version though to supplement my EZ990.

I was also thinking of add-a-leafs but truck accessories guys don't recommend them (even though they supply them) if load capacity is the concern. They say either go with helpers (LP-25's and up) or airbags. I am somewhat regretting that I settled for the EZ990's. They did infact made the load capacity higher, and ride isn't noticably changed, but I could have gotten something even better than that.

What is a EZ990? Never heard of it.
