Post Lift and wheels...void warranty??? general questions.

I have a 98 xlt 5.4 ORP ex cab. I really want to put a 3" body lift with wheels and tires. Not sure yet about 33's, or 35's. Well, will this void my warranty at all? I already finished the motor up with exhaust, airaid, and chip. Thanks for any info.

I don't think it does. It's not like a suspension lift where your changing a lot of parts out. I don't think, but don't quote me, a suspension lift will, as long as it's not over a certain height (probably 4-5 inches). Most of the Ford kits are this height and retain the factory geometries and drive angles. The best thing to do is call the dealer and ask. Hopefully you can find somebody knowledgeable on the subject or at least somebody that won't be a jerk towards you. You might also want to call some 4WD drive or off-road shops that sell lift kits and ask them.

I'm sure if something goes wrong with your truck and it can in any way possibly be traced back to the tires, they will find a way to void the warranty because of them. My dealer claimed that extra weight would cause all sorts of wear and tear on the drivetrain. They also said that the bigger tire would cause all sorts of problems with the computer and my trans would destroy itself. I have had no problems at all.
The body lift probably wont void any warranty because it does not change anything, just raises the body. I went ahead and waited for my warranty to run out before I did anything but as soon as it ran out...up it went!

That makes 3. Mine comes down to money or warranty, whichever comes first.
