Post Can you go 7K with the -150?

How would one go about raising the GVWR of a 99 4x2 SC F-150? Would adding a Hellwig LP-25(?) just about do it or do I need to get heavier front coils as well? I know an F-250LD uses the same frame with some extra reinforcements. I really want to get a 1700 lbs payload for my truck but with the campershell, fuel and me in it, the payload drops to 1200. So I just need something to negate it. 1700 is good but I would like to get 2000 to make it better. The advertisement on the Hellwigs state that it can increase payload capacity by 2.5K but the real limiting factor is in the truck's weakest link, which I think is the leaf springs. After the leaf spring, what is the next weak link? Will the tires be the weak link, or its hub?

I wouldn't swear to it but I think the next weakest link is the axles. 250's and 350's have bigger axles. I have by mistake put 2600 lbs in my 97' f150 about a year ago and have suffered no ill effects but... I wouldn't do it again. An axle truss might help load capacity a little bit but I couldn't give you numbers. After that you better check the brakes and then the frame.
