Well for what I've seen while looking for my lift is that most of the suspension lifts are 4 inches. You could get a body lift in a 2 or 3 inch package. www.performanceaccessories.com Its a hell of a lot cheaper Too. $160.00 or so verses $1200.00 to $1500.00

you could also crank up the torsion bars an inch and add aleaf or use a 'super spring' setup in the rear. pretty cheap 1"-1 1/2" lift

loser(you really need a new name!)
I've got 285/75/16 and no problems. If you play offroad you will want to lose the front bumper valence and maybe trim the factory mud flaps

RIBADIB-

I know this is a little late, but I just registered. I have the same concerns about a BIG 4' or 5' lift with BIG tires. The problem is I want my rig to still fit into the garage!!!! My plans are to crank up the T-Bars aprox. 2" re-allign the front end and stick 285/75/16 w/AR pythons on. I think this will make the truck look a little more like a 4X.

WSECTION,

Acceptance is the 1st stage of recovery, or so they tell me. So even if I crank up the T-Bars I'll still need to remove the front valance and do some trimming? Do you know of any other options? I still want to fit in the garage.

Loser, When i had my 79 bronco i had a 4 inch lift with 36s on it and it still fit in the garage...measure from the top of the truck to the garage (7ft i think) you should have room for a 3 in body lift or 4 in suspension lift with 285-295s...ask some guys to messure ther trucks for you.....hope it works out for you.....Dave

ditto what davinsa said.
I have the 33" tires now, but will be adding a lift for better clearance. as I measure it, I still should get in the garage(7' door) the antenna already hits!
I say go for it and have fun doing it!!!

hey loser,

The impression that I got from the description of your truck is that it is a two wheel drive. If this is true, you can forget "cranking up the torsion bars". You can look for them all you want, but you won't find them-2bys have coil springs. My advice is to check out the site "http://www.fabtechmotorsports.com".
I would recommend the 3 1/2 inch lift. Good luck...

Whoops, my bad. I must remind myself to look at the truck specs under messages. I was thrown off by loser's previous message-"make the truck look a little more like a 4x".
