Smile Tie Rods; Pinion Seal; E-Brake

Just had the outer Tie Rods; pinion seal at differential; and backing plates (including E brake shoes) replaced under an extended warranty on me 2001 SCrew (4X4) (80,000 kms/48,000 miles). Truck had 37,000 kms (22,600 miles) on it when I bought it so have no idea how/where the previous owner drove this vehicle. I drive mainly on highway (70%) and have never driven off-road. Very glad I had bought the Ford extended warranty but am wondering about replacement of these parts at such a low mileage. Since this is my first truck I am not sure if this is normal or not. Any comments/thoughts?
