Angry Tonneau Warning

To all owners with a new, factory or dealer fitted tonneau. My 02 screw was ordered with a tonneau. I dont know the make, but I assume that it's a Ford item. It was either factory or dealer fitted.
I did not notice until recently, that the frame has been fitted too far forward, and has allowed the front lip of the cover to be in contact with the rear of the cab beneath the rear window. It has removed the paint down to the metal where it has touched.
CHECK YOURS!

I had this problem with my SCrew, I had a tonneau installed just before heading out on an 8000 mile cross country trip. Didn't notice it until I got home. I masked off the area and took some clear coat to it. If I ever have to have it in the bodyshop for pain I'll make sure it gets painted. Its troubling but not major

Thanks for the info. I had mine installed about a month ago and the dealer mentioned that I should check it but I forgot until I read your post. Going to check it right now...

Thumbs up

Just installed the cover last night. Was about a 20 minute job to do so. Didn't think about the cab section but will check. I am glad with the look and feel of the cover. I had a factory one from Ford on my other std. F-150 and loved it. If you can spend a few extra bucks the Ford Cover is cleaner and closer to the inside of the bed and allows for the external clamps.

Thanks for the heads up.
