Mounting Location for JL 500/1?
Where would be a good place to mount a JL Audio 500/1 Amp in a 2002 Supercrew? I'm thinking about mounting it under the rear seats but I'd like to know if anybody has mounted one in an alternate location. Also I haven't even bothered to check if it will fit without touching anything while the seat is upright and folded so I'm not even sure if that will work or not.
I really don't want to mount it an either of the storage compartments as I usually use that to store stuff in (plus I don't know if it will fit or not).
Any pictures would also be very appreciated

I think there are several posibilities... You could mount it under the passenger's front seat if you are capable of making a mod or remaking the bar that lifts to slide the seat fore and aft. There is great height there but that bar is in the middle of the avail. space.
I am mounting my Punch 800 (about:18" L x 12" x 2" D) in the face of a 3 sided box I'm building to go behind the rear bench in my Screw. I have also thought that it might not be too hard to take the leather seatcover/ top half of the rear bench off and unscrew that hard ABS plastic that makes up the floor when the seats are folded down, and cut out the shape of your amp and mount it flush in the back of one of the rear bench seats....orrr I can't see why one couldn't make some 1 1/2"-2" spacers and longer bolts to put between all the rear seat bracket bolts, to lift the rear seat and mount an amp under the seat thus curing the problem of no clearance when the seats fold down. I am not sure if spacers will work, but from looking at it for a long time it seems that all the geometry would stay in the same plane just 1"-2" higher.

bigedmiami, great setup. Unfortunately I don't want to lost the back storage compartments. Also the center console is out since I have most of the space there being taken up by a JL Audio Stealth Box.
I'm picking up the amp from my buddy tomorrow (JL Audio 500/1 for $300.. couldn't pass it up ) and I'll start trial fitting it in various locations. Plans are eventually to get a 300/4 to power mids and tweets.
