X Plan, A Plan, Etc
myfordliveson,
Noticed by your post that you have a 97 with the 4.6 in it. On your wish list was a superchip. I had a 97 with the 4.6, sold it several months ago. Just happen to take the superchip out, it's a YSL2 dated 25 November 1998.
If you haven't got one and are interested in this one, email me. I have all the original paperwork. Paid 196 plus 8.50 shipping and handling. Wouldn't need but a tiny fraction of that.

I'd be really surprised if a dealer will get hammered for not giving you the incentives/rebates on an X-Plan purchase. He is not forced to honor X-Plan. It's the dealers option. He can justify not giving you the incentives/rebates as part of the deal he was willing to strike. At least that is how I understand it.
We know better than that... go on in and try to plunk down and X-Plan pin on a 2003 Harley-Davidson..... Or better yet, on the first 2004 your local dealer gets in....

This was the first X plan I had ever used. But my relative at Ford told me that the dealer would honor all Ford rebates and incentives, if they balked to call Ford and let them know which dealer. I never had a problem, but evidently some dealers are not as good as the one I dealt with otherwise I'm sure my relative would not have warned me about it.
Of course, I didn't buy the first new model that arrived, or one of the more limited models like the "H-D" or "L".

It saddens me to hear about dealers that try to screw with potential customers. Here in Michigan, it is hard to find a dealer that won't honor a,x,or z on any vehicle. I bought my Lightning with an a-plan and gave my buddy an x-plan pin # for his Lightning. They were bought at different dealerships.
I nabbed this off of a post on FTW. Very good explanation...
Who Is Eligible for X-Plan?
Active employees (hourly and salaried), retirees and their spouses at U.S. and Canadian locations of:
Selected Ford Motor Company Suppliers
Selected Ford Motor Company Fleet Customers
Selected Companies/Organizations Strategically Related to Ford Motor Company
Participants will be required to show proof of employment by an organization eligible for Partner Recognition benefits; at the time they take delivery of their vehicle.
Facts About X-Plan.
For non-Ford Motor company employees, X-Plan provides an opportunity to experience the benefits of driving a Ford Motor Company vehicle. Selected individuals may be sponsored by a Ford Motor Company employee or may be eligible as an employee or member of a partner company or organization.
Current X-Plan programs which recognize an ongoing relationship include:
Supplier Partner Recognition.
Fleet Account Employee Appreciation
Friends & Neighbors.
How does the process work?
Step 1: Eligible employee obtains organization's Partner Recognition Code.
Step 2: A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is obtained by calling 1-877-XPLAN-00 (U.S.) They will be required to provide your Name, Address, and Social Security Number.
Step 3: Participants visit a participating dealer and identify themselves as a Partner Recognition (X-Plan) participant. Provides the dealer with Social Security Number and PIN.
Step 4: Select a vehicle.
Step 5: Provide proof of employment by an eligible Ford partner through a pay stub, company ID, business card, W-2, etc.
Step 6: Arrange for delivery through Varsity Lincoln Mercury.
How many vehicles may be obtained through Partner Recognition?
Eligible employees, retirees and their spouses may purchase or lease four vehicles per calendar year through the Partner Recognition Program. Vehicles must be titled and registered in the eligible employee or spouse's name (vehicles may not be titled or registered in a company name). No other family members are eligible for Partner Recognition pricing.
How long is the program in effect?
There is no expiration date for the program, however, Ford Motor Company reserves the right to modify the program, remove eligibility, or cancel the program at any time.
What is Partner Recognition (X-Plan) Pricing?
Partner Recognition pricing is a special pre-determined price, which is based on the following:
Ford Employee (A-Plan) price plus 4%.
Participants are explained that Varsity Lincoln Mercury will assist them in obtaining the X-Plan price for the vehicle they choose. Then, they can then compare the price to the MSRP to calculate their total discount.
Which Ford Motor Company vehicles are eligible?
All Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles are eligible. The only exceptions are F450-F750, which are excluded.
Are X-Plan participants eligible for other incentives?
Yes - for most. Partner recognition participants are eligible for all public incentives and many incentives normally paid to the dealer. There are some special offers that are not compatible with this offer. Participants should ask the dealer to determine which incentives they are eligible for. Dealers should check the C&I summary on fdealer.com and VINCENT to determine eligibility.
Are any other items covered through the X-Plan?
No - dealer installed options, conversion packages, extended warranties, accessories, etc. are not covered by this program and must be agreed-upon between the participant and the dealer.
Can vehicles be purchased or leased?
Yes - the only requirement with leasing is that the lease must be obtained through Ford Credit.
Can a vehicle be traded in combination with this program?
Yes - however this program does not cover trade-in allowances, which must be negotiated directly with the customer.
Can participants receive the special Partner Recognition Price at any Dealer?
This program is available through all participating dealers in the U.S. and Canada. Dealer participation is voluntary. Program participants should inform the dealer of their X-Plan (S-Plan) eligibility during your first contact with your dealer. If for some reason the dealer elects not to participate, they may visit another dealer.

I just got my 02 Supercrew with the x-plan, I got in on a special Ford had for investor relations (expired 6/30) to get in on X-plan pricing. I got a fully loaded Lariat with sticker of $38k for just under $30k this was with the X-plan plus a $2k rebate. I think I did pretty good? My dealer also had to trade another dealer something for it and pick it up 2 hours away (this did not even cost me). You are suppose to get all incentives available with the X-plan. Know if I can just get in on X-plan again in 2 years or so to replace my wife's Winstar!!!
I've heard several people mention getting X-Plan pricing for simply being a member of an organization. Does anyone have a listing of the qualifying organizations?
The reason I'm asking so many questions is because my father is getting ready to buy an 03 Lariat, loaded to the teeth and wants to get the best deal available.
Me, I'm elegible for A-Plan through my wife's step-father (Visteon Emp) but, since my father and my step-father-in-law really don't know eachother plus, they aren't immedate family, my father wouldn't be eligible for a-plan through him... make any sense? I didn't think so! LOL!
Any help pointing me towards sources for obtaining an X-plan code would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Rock, your source for A-plan should be able to generate an x-plan pin for your father via "friends and family" part of the x-plan. I got my x-plan from a member of this board..... someone I didn't even know. That person (remaining annymous) had access to an X plan PIN and gave it to me when I got ready.
As you know A plan is for immediate family, x-plan is for friends, etc.
My FX4 loaded to the max retailed at $38,740. X-plan price was $34,005. Good luck.
