tires

I hate to post a question that's probably already been covered, but I have not found it...

I have a 2002 Screw FX4. What is the biggest and widest tire and rim combination I can mount on my Screw WITHOUT lifting the truck? I don't want any rubbing under normal driving conditions if I can avoid it.

Anyone know?

I just put some BFG 295/75/16's on with M/T 8" wheels. We had to do some modifications to the plastic on the lower bumper and mud flaps. The truck is also raised 1" in the front. This setup really filled up the fender wells. I'll post some pics latter. Galexy who posts here runs 305/70/16's on 10" rims with cranked torsion bars, claims no problems using this setup. I was trying to keep my tires in a little closer so running through "street water" didn't give my truck a shower. Good luck

KGM is right, 305/70 (33x12.50) on a 16x10 inch rim is the largest size you can run on a stock 97-03 F-150 4x4. You will have to crank up the torsion bars or trim a little off the front bumper's lower plastic valance. You may or may not have to trim if you run 16x8s. It's a personal choice, but I think the 16x10s look a lot better than 16x8s.
