Xenarc Headlights/Lightning Headlights

Those of you that have Xenarc headlights... If you don't mind me asking, how much were they and from where did you get them.

Also, how much should I ask for my Lightning headlights used? I've had them less than 6 months so they're practically BRAND NEW.

Thoughts? Comments?

Thanks folks.

I may be intrested in those L head lights. Depending on how much your going to sell them for. I have the Silverstars but I think they would look even better with the clear head lights.

They're worth about $5 for the pair. I'll buy them and even pay for the shipping!

Rock,

They're worth a dozen KKs of your liking and I'll pay for the shipping as well, or you pay the shipping and I'll send you two dozen KKs, deal?

No really, I don't have a clue as to how much the lights are worth but I doubt anyone would pay more than half the going rate since they're used.

My $0.02.

mmmm, are these the lenses and the corners without the bulbs or what?

I don't want to lose my current SilverStars but do like the look of the L lenses.

Also I did a search on ebay but no used ones, so you will have to sell them most likley for half price...

The reason I'm probing on this question is because I have a set of Xenarc (the HID X2010) brand new for $500 if I want them. I have a contact that works for OSRAM Sylvania and he printed me off their price for the Xenarcs.

$500 for the X2010 and $300 for the X1010

Here's where I struggle...

I'd have to sell my L heads. As you all seem to think, I'd only get half of what I paid. I'd really need to get more than that. They're less than 6 months old (4+ in fact) and are mint. I think $350 is reasonable... but, apparently you all don't think I could ever get that out of them. Even though a new set from the dealership would run upwards of around $400.

If I have a wreck (god forbid) and I rear end someone and total screw up my front end; insurance will only cover the replacement of the stock assemblies. Not the $500 Xenarcs (or for that case, wouldn't cover my $400 L heads).

Any thoughts? Suggestions? It really seems like a great deal on the Xenarcs but, I struggle to think about spending that much on heads...

Maybe I just need to stick with the poor mans' Xenarc system -- Silverstars.

Rock,

Maybe you can post your lights for sale on this site in the classifieds or even jump in the Lightning pool and see if you can get struck by lightning or someone needing a pair, of bulbs that is

Good luck and if I hear of anyone looking for some L lights, I'll be sure and point them to you. I don't know what your lights are worth, but maybe you can ask yourself what you'd be willing to pay for a set if I had them for sale, ie. walk in someone else's shoes and maybe the right price will be more evident. I dunno, I'm just trying to help but then again I don't really know anything about L lights so it might be just useless banter...

Later,

I didn't know the "L"s were that much money. Harley's are $310 a pair at fordpartsonline.com and the corners are $183 a pair. Tails run $251 a pair for Lightning clears. Cost alot of money to play dress up. Hope you sell 'em.

I guess you can just put them on ebay and set the reserve price at the level that you need, then if they don't make it, you don't have to sell them, but if you do you will be happy and can buy your new headlights.

Rock,

I don't have any feel for what the L lights are worth, I just want to make a comment on the above statement. If I were to buy $500.00 Xenarcs, I would talk to my insurance company about a modification rider for my policy. That way, if you do get in an accident they will cover your mods too. Just a thought.......

Thanks for the replies folks.

What are your opinions about HID (High Intensity Discharge) lighting systems?

You all have seen them... they are the ones that come standard on cars like Acuras and BMWs. Are they worth the extra money? I mean, they look awesome from a distance but, have any of you all had any experience driving with a set? I'd really like some first hand input.

Thanks as usual.

RockPick,
I did what S'CrewLoose suggested and took my truck to the insurance dealer and got a customization rider on all the add ons in case of wreck, fire, get stolen etc. I have about 3800 in add ons that they will now cover 100 % if something happens. I wanted to be sure if I got in a wreck they would replace the parts I added on with the same and not back to factory. They said it wouldnt make the policy go up and it didnt. I jut got the renewal and the rider is on there now and the policy cost is the same

Thanks 2000FordStyle. I just emailed Geico (my insurance carrier) to inquire about the customization rider addition.

Who is your carrier, 2000FordStyle? I'm curious because I just talked to my agent who told me an endorsement would have to be added to my policy if the addons exceeded $1500, making my premium go up.

HID on cars are cool. HID on trucks are cool too, but I would not want to be in front of or coming at you because the lights on trucks are so much higher than they are on cars. It would be blindingly bright.
