Only one problem with it once and they fixed it in a day. I always just hit the button to automatically retract until it stopped. One day a buddy of mine that had an older explorer said "you know you can make them go back further?". They have about 1" you can still see of the glass when fully retracted. So he pushed the button to supposedly make it go back further, well, apparently my hard stops hadn't been installed properly and it jumped the tracks and stuck open. Fortunately it was a nice day and the dealer got it fixed in a couple hours. They had to take the head liner off to fix it. They go back until there is a little of the glass left protruding but nothing to obnoxious in my opinion. Other than that, it's worked flawlessly and without a leak since the day I got it 2 1/2 years ago.

Love my sunroof and probably won't get a new vehicle without one now!

I had a problem in the first two weeks with mine, it jumped the track. Dealer fixed it in an hour. Had to remove headliner.

Two weeks later, same thing. Dealer replaced entire thing. No problems since. I think there was a problem with the 2001 factory moonroof, once replaced they are fine. If you search the forums, you should find some of the old discussions of this.

No problems with mine. I have a 2001 Supercrew that I bought May 2001, and never a problem at all. I love it and use it in conjunction with my power rear slider all the time.

Only problem I had with mine in almost two years, was when some kind of bracket came loose inside the cavity. Dealer had the truck a couple days and fixed it. runs fine since.....I've heard that they go further back than the automatic stop, but I've never tried

I have an 02 KR with the moonroof. No problems so far and I love it. My wife has a 93 T-Bird with moonroof and still works fine never any trouble.
Try it. You'll like it.

I have a 2001 HD and I have had a little trouble with my moonroof. After about 3 months of ownership I opened the moonroof and I heard a click. The darn thing was stuck open and could not be closed. I took it to the dealer and the motor/control module died. They had to replace the entire unit. It was at the dealership a couple of days because they did not have the parts in stock. It was a real pain. Since then, no problems at all.

Looks like I'm one of the poor saps that have had a leak. The seal around the moonroof has 'bucked up' and had allowed some rain to enter inside the cab.... I love mine though. It's all fixed now.

2001 SCrew here...no probs...I do remember hearing something a long time ago about slow operation or something like that but never had the problem so I never bothered to investigate. We live in a fairly dry area, so I can't vouch for leak issues. Get it and don't look back....

just my experience

In my opinion, moon roofs, sun roofs, T-tops (remember those) will all eventually leak. Maybe not the first year or the second but given time they will leak. They can be fixed but it's a pain in the but.

This has been my experience with American cars, Japanese cars and now a European car.

I wouldn't get one ever again.....
