what about supercab?

i went to kbb.com and i didn't see the 3.73 gears for the supercab lariat or xlt. is this option only on the super crew?

i did check the fx4 option but it says it includes the 3.55 and not the 3.73
once again this is on the supercab.

I did not check it to know completely, but KBB is usually very accurate, so It's probably right. Hope not though

I belive that the standard and supercab models have always had the gear options from 3.55, 3.73 to the 4.10s. The reason it is being mentioned on the SuperCrew is the 2001 and 2002 models ONLY came with the 3.55s no other choice.

I may be wrong but I do belive it is an option, your best bet is to go on Ford.com and build your truck and then see if it has the options.

Guys,
I am almost 100% sure that 4.10's have never been optional on an F150 (only on SD's, I think). Also, I don't even think you can get factory 3.73's unless you get the 7700 Payload package on an F150. If it's an option on a SuperCrew, I haven't heard of it. And that includes FX4's. Ford just doesn't like putting anything lower than 3.55 on a vehicle that the EPA keeps tabs on for fuel mileage. That's why the 3.73 only comes on the heaviest-duty model F150. There's just not enough of them moving around to drag the national EPA mileage down. For one or two years ('99 and '00, maybe) 3.73's were optional on 4x4's, but no 4x2's. You won't find it listed in any of Ford's literature, but my buddy drives a '98 Nascar Edition F150 (the lowered black one with the checkered Nascar decals on it) with factory 3.73's; I think all the Nascar trucks had them, so I guess there are exceptions to the rule. But for now, if you want 4.10's, you'll have to do it yourself, and then figure out how to recalibrate your speedo, 'cause you'll be off by 15% going from 3.55. Lots of guys have done this mod, so there's probably all kinds of threads you could look up. I've got a set of 4.10's still in the box that I can't decide whether or not to install in my '98 SC Lariat 4.6 5-speed 4x2 (factory 3.55). I really can't get a straight answer on how to reset the speedo on a '98 (I've heard that a 23-tooth speedo gear does the trick, but try to find one of those for an F150). Good luck to everyone!
