Someone linked to it a while back and I remembered this thread. When I needed to reference it I searched it out and bumped it. This one ought to be tacked, it's darn good info.

The stock fan? Easy. You just need something to hold the pulley still when you break the nut loose on the stocker. I had a spare piece of bar stock with a 1/4" hole in the end. I took a bolt (with attached washer) from the washer fluid reservoir and ground one side of the washer off.

If you order the Troyer fans be sure to head to home depot or lowes first to pickup the aluminum bar stock. Had I known that the fans originally mounted through the fins in the radiator I'd not have bought them. As it stands the fans were there for over a year with no problems (knocks on wood). I have recently remounted them on 1/8" x 1" bar stock.

I have my high side right off of the top on the AC but it runs constantly with the AC and I have gone through 2 fans already. I can't find the "destructions" to refer to so I can change the hook up to allow the fan to cycle with the compressor. If anyone can assist I would GREATLY appreciate it. I just need to know which which wire on my 99 5.4 to connect to on the compressor or if anyone has any other suggestions - thanks !!!
