Electric Fan Install

Just got in a Flex-A-Lite fan. I was looking forward to installing it. I was kind of pumped up about how simple it was going to be to install it. I have seen some post saying how they completed their install in 1 hour. I was like, yeap should be about a 3 hour job for me then. Always give yourself lead way! To my surprise, , that member was right. It took me one hour to unistall the stock stuff, 3 hours to figure out it was not going to happen tonight, with a few choice of words, and another hour to put it back.

All in all, it took me about 5 hours to get back to where I started. I am not happy at all. Oh yeah! This is going on a '00 F150/4x4/5.4L. Just venting some! Did any of you have this bad of an experience when installing your new, high powered, gas saveing, bleep bleep bleep! LOL.

Thanks,
HiVltg

no, FAL 270 kit, about 2.5 hours start to finish.

This includes reading the wiring diagrams to find the Key run position wire and confirm the AC wire on the fuse block, running the wire in the plastic wire chase by the cowl.

Longest time was taking out the stock shroud Damn thing was like wrestling a bear in there

I bought the Flex-A-Lite 270 kit from Summit. I still am not sure if I am mounting the brackets correctly to the fan. Lack of clear pics in the instructions, and the bracket is not install correctly on the drivers side. It is hitting the steel hoses coming off the a/c compressor cooler or something. Don't know. Just have not had very good luck w/it. May just be the installer or just my truck. These kind of things are simple for me to put in. Maybe it was just to simple. I will have to try again later this weekend.

Thanks for the input,
HiVltg
