Exclamation Finally a power rear slider!

According to KBB.com the 2003 Lariat and King Ranch will have the power rear slider option from the factory. I think it's about time!!!

If Ford puts in the 3 valves per cylinder engin I may trade up.

dcovell,

Install it yourself or have a glass shop install one for you.......I had one installed and ran the wires myself......very nice mod, not to mention great ventilation in combo with the moonroof......

Screwloose....

What brand of slider did you get installed? Who makes one? How much did it cost you?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Where are the pix? I'd like to see how this looks. I was considering this option, but wasn't sure if I really would have liked it. How much was it, and where did you mount the switch?

I mounted my switch next to the pedal switch. I realized later that I should have gotten the switch that matches the pedal switch, but oh well. The window doesn't look much different except that it has no latch on it, just glass. The last picture shows all the wires.

The manufacturer is CRLaurence. It is also a Ford factory part. I bought mine from www.oemfordparts.com and I believe I got it for about $250. Don't quote me on that, it was about 9 months ago. I noticed the MSRP on the factory installed power slider is very reasonable though. It's only a little more than the manual one. If I get a new truck I will have to get it factory installed.

Just a heads up

Just wanted to let you know that a power rear sliding window was available on the 2002 models (For a supercab that is!!!) ... I know I have one in my truck. (See sig below). I ordered my truck in April 2002 and got it May 17th or so. It is pretty sweet. The power slider from the factory is $245 and the regular manual slider is $125. It is not a C.R. Laurence, but a stock factory one. Let me know if I can help some more.

BTW. It was a late availability item. I didn't even know it existed until my dealer saw it on the order screen.

everything dfunnel said..........................except I ordered a OEM switch from fordpartsonline.com it looks like the power pedal switch except the arrows point to the left and right. it looks much cleaner (not bashing dfunnels install, just making a point) as far as pictures, I have no camera at the moment and besides I don't want to show off my slightly skewd switch.... I got a little carried away with the dremal and twisted the mounting hole a little to the left.

PS: I think the OEM slider is actually manufactured by CRLaurence

Just a point of fact, the Ford factory one is the CRLaurence one. They outsource the work so they are exactly the same part, just a different switch for it. For supercabs they were available in 2002, but not for the Supercrew. Why, I have no idea. I guess because it makes too much sense to have it in a supercrew instead of a supercab. Ford sometimes doesn't think about things and their impact on the market.

Good to see you on the board again JBinSD, haven't heard from you in a while.

I think I see you truck around Mission Valley once in a while over there by the new Lowes and Ikea.

Back to the conversation, as far as getting the window installed, It's not that big of a deal to me, would be nice but I don't want to spend the time and money right now for it aftermarket. When Ford puts it in do they make the switch look like the foot pedal switch or does anyone know this?

From the factory it looks like the pedal switch. Dealer installed I wouldn't bet on it.

I just got my kr supercrew and it came factory with the power slider was a little over 2 hundred, it was made in may and has the button that looks like the pedal switch, so i guess they are putting them on the late run 2002's.
