Thumbs up

Alan-
I was very happy with the quality of the lift. It is not an extremely difficult install, but I would suggest using a lift and power tools. It took me about 6 hours to install. As far as Fabtech I have installed a few of these lifts on my customers trucks, and was satisfied with the quality of all of them.---Paul

Question

I went to the fabtech website and downloaded the installation instructions. Some of the better instructions that ive seen with lifts these days But i noticed that the lift uses 3" blocks for the rear. Do you know if it comes with add-a-leafs? Or if there is a way i can opt out for it? I dont like blocks that much.

Blocks

I have blocks on mine. No problem with them at all. Any thing I have ever put add a leafs on was on smaller lifts(like 3" s-10). The advantage to blocks is the same factory ride quality. Springs used to lift the truck make the ride alot stiffer, resulting in a bumpy ride.---Paul

FYI - if your dealer gives you grief about modifications on your truck go to a different dealer. Most of them are happy for the business.

Smile lift

hey, your truck looks great with the lift. i am planning on doing the fabtech lift pretty soon. i wqas wondering if you put gears in the front and the rear. i am going to put the gears in if necessary. i would like your opinion. i have the 5.4, and i want to put 35 12.50's on the truck. i am pretty sure i have the 3.55 gears on my truck, but i am not sure. also, how hard was the install.
thanks,
jesse

Talking 3.55

I have the 3.55 gears in my truck and have not really seen a reason to swap them out. ---Paul

Thanks for the kind words! You wont believe the difference the lift makes. I still love the looks it gets and all of the compliments. The truck actually rides smoother than factory, I would guess better shocks and tires make the difference. No squeaks or creaks yet, but I dont put many miles on the truck. I did retighten all of the bolts after about 1k miles.(only have 1500 miles on her since the install) Good luck with your Screw and be sure to post pix when you are done!---Paul

Did you add a 2" leafspring in the rear to get it level or is it just the liftkit alone. I've seen truckwith the fabtech
6"liftw/2"leafsprings to get it level. yours look level wondering if you did the same like txtxcowboy and swamprat also have the same kit but they both added a 2" procomp leafspring to get there level.

Thumbs up Blocks

I used the blocks that come supplied in the kit. No problems with them, and its more of my prefered way of doing it! -Paul
