Question After a lot of driving when I step on the gas...

my truck seems to have a bit more umphh to it? I just recently made 2 round trips to LA from San Diego for a buisiness trip and did an average of 80MPH on the freeways up there.

Now when I step on the gas hard to blow by some slow traffic on the freeway, the RPMs will race up to over 5000! before the shift locks in. This scared me at first and I was wondering if there was a issue with my torque converter or trans but I have noticed a increase in power (noticable). The only other thing I could think of is did it break in some more (just hit 18,000 miles) or did the gas formulation change for the summer season?

I would guess the latter as I know they use a diffrent gas formula in the winter and the summer. So maybe the engine is really happy with a bit more energy in the gas (I use Cheveron 91 only). Also the computer may have adjusted to my fast driving habit.

Anyone have any guesses or answeres for me? Anyone had a similar feeling? This is the first summer this truck has ever had. IT was built back in August and I bought it in early September.

Oh yea and that A/C feels good along with those tinted windows!
