Talking Lifted My Screw

I finally got my Screw the way I pictured it when I bought it. 3 weeks old and it has a different outlook on the world. I installed a 6" Fabtech suspension lift with BFG All Terrain KO 315/75/16(35X12.50) and ARE Baja polished aluminium 16X10 rims. What a different truck! It rides smoother and sits alot higher, I even look down on Super Duties! I highly recommend this kit to anyone who is considering a lift kit. You should have seen the salesman's face when I pulled into the dealer for my plates! Well I just wanted to share my joy!! I am still undecided on what type of bedcover or even cap to go with.

I purchased the kit from Arizonia Desert Rat. It cost $1459.00 delivered to NJ. I got my tires and rims from my tire wholesaler which at my cost was $1160.00 for both. I doubt you'll be able to find that price, but figure $200-$300 over that. As far as install I installed it at my shop and it took me about 6 hours. It's not an extremely hard install but does take alot of tools and knowledge of working on cars. I still have to take pix and post, but that may take a little bit, I am getting married in 2 days and then I will be in Hawaii for 2 weeks. I will try to post before I leave but this has been a very busy week!! I will really miss my Screw while I am gone ---Paul

Lift Kits

I had a Ford Dealer Mechanic tell me that the best lift kit for your money is made by Race car Dynamics, and comes with new blistein shocks........Just a thought

Here's a shot of one with the Rancho 4" suspension and 3" body lift. The Fabtech lift looks similar with blue parts....JB

SuperBeast,

I'm not trying to steal your thunder from your post. I was just trying to give lsuscrew a visual representation of a lifted screw. Well...that's not exactly the whole truth. I was also trying to show off mine...just a little ....JB

Must....restrain....from....this.....mod.....

*clenching fists*

ARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!! Why did you have to post that pic? Now I want one....

Hmmm... how to explain THIS to the husband... "But honey, you get better gas mileage because there's less wind resistance from underneath the truck."

jb, that looks real nice. how do you like the pro comps.

beast, we wheel down in south jersey all the time. maybe you can meet up with us and take the truck out.

jenn, you actually get worse gas mileage but who cares anyway.

Thumbs up

Sorry Jenn...didn't mean to corrupt you. These trucks sure do look sweet lifted. Curt73's right...your gas mileage will drop drastically after the lift. It hurts to admit, but I'm only getting 10 mpg. I didn't get a big *** truck, lift it to the moon and expect to get good gas mileage. That's what my motorcycle is for.

Curt73...I like the Pro Comps. I have the MTs, so they're pretty noisy. My buddy has the same truck, same lift, and ATs. He says that he gets a couple mpg more. But they don't look as good (IMO).

Only 10 mpg? My sneakers get better mileage than THAT! I guess this is a good thing, save myself some $$ for other mods.

But it sure does look purty all lifted up.
