Pollen/Dust Problems? Try This!

First of all... I don't work for, get compensated by, nor promote any item... use/buy/burn my ideas/comments/items at your own risk. That being said...

Pollen is a major problem this time of year... just thought I'd point out a product that is worth it's weight in gold...

it's the "CALIFORNIA CAR DUSTER". I own TWO and I'll tell you, the dirtier these things get, the better they work. It's a simple long handled wand with, what appears to be, a dust mop on the other end. What's special about this 'dust mop' is that the mop fibers are very lightly coated in a high grade paraffin wax that really works wonders on dust and other small surficial particles.

The first couple of times that you use it, you might notice a couple of spots on your finish that you'll have to go back and buff off with a terry cloth (just a small amount of paraffin wax-nothing to be alarmed about). Once you've used it several times and the mop portion is good and dirty, it'll work like an absolute charm.

You can get these things at just about any 'mega store'. (Wally-Hell (wal-mart), etc.). They run around $15 and are worth much more than that.

I DO NOT recommend you using this item to 'wash your truck'. It's designed to gently remove dust and pollen and that type of particle...not to scrub the finish. Just lightly run the mop fibers across the paint and it works on it's own. I've never had to wash mine and I've had it for about 5+ years. It still works like a dream.

Feel free to post comments or questions. I'd be happy to answer them.

Those things are great. We have been using one for years on my wife's T-Bird Supercoupe. It's white.
So naturally I bought one when I got my KR. I am very happy with the results. And no I do not work for them either.

Hey screw150!

My wifes T-Bird is a 93 with a 5 speed stick.
White with 2 Ford blue racing stripes from nose to tail. The T-Bird as about 135,000 miles on it still runs great. She bought it new. It is a great highway cruiser. I love the supercharger. On trips we can get about 26 mpg, thats cruising at about 80 or 85 with 2 passengers and the car fully loaded.

It also works great on larger pieces of furniture. Wood surfaces of course.

i use mine all the time inbetween washings. Great for autoshows too cuz the black show the dust too quickly. THey also make a smaller sized one that would be good for dusting your dash really quick too.

Your right this time of year the pollen here in Kentucky can get very bad at times. I have one of the duster's that I never leave home without it. At points is so bad I have to use it 3-4 times a day. Mine is now looks totally filthy but it still works too good to think about clenaing it. I have a dark blue truck and dust shows on it almost as bad as black. People are still amazed with the condition of my truck when I tell them it's a 97. The only thing I have found it doesn't always work well on is by soft bed cover. It's something about the grained type finish on the bed cover that duster can't really clean too well. That and water spots are the only drawback with the duster, and The Absorber takes care of both of them.
