Opinions please...

like I have to ask Screw owner what I should do. Here's the scenario: I was planning on buying my 99 Scab ORP 5.4 3.73 off-lease for $18k plus $1400 for extended warranty and wait for the 2004 Screws to come out with more hp and hopefully a rear gear selection. Unfortunately I was looking thru the classifieds today and saw dealers taking big $$$ off of new Screws. So I went shopping...

Here's the deal: 2002 Screw XLT FX4 5.4 3.55LS, MSRP 34375, 7500 off for $26,875. I definitely like it, but the new buckets seem really hard and slightly uncomfortable compared to my 99. Also, with the 3.55 it definitely felt a little sluggish compared to mine. I have to pay the lease company $350 if I turn my 99 back in.

SO...whatya think? Is this a good price for an 02 Screw??

Doesn't sound like a bad bang for the buck. Keep in mind, your 99 has several 'butt prints' in the seats. The new 02 will loosen up with repeated butt imprints. GET THE SCREW!!

Sounds like a good deal. Remember buying the Screw you will also have low interest loans available.

The harder seats in the new SuperCrew is way better than the soft seats in the '99.

I replaced my '99 Lariat with leather with a '01 SuperCrew Lariat with leather and I find these seats a lot more comfortable in the long run. It's like going from an American car to a German car. Americans initially complain about how hard the seats are in Bimmers and Benzes. Doesn't take long for them to discover that the firm seating is a lot better.

My '01 has more support in the bolsters than the '99 and that made a big difference in my comfort level.

Thumbs up

I had Purchased my '98 S/cab following a 2 year lease, but nearing the end of the warranty in the 3rd year was offered a great deal
on my 2001 Screw from the dealer. I'm so glad I went for the screw and not an extended warranty on the '98. As good as the '98 and better! You won't be disappointed.

I have never owned a SCab, but I do know that is a good deal on a SCrew. My seats are better than my wifes Maxima and I have plenty of get up and go for what I do with the 3.55. I f I could buy my SCrew again for that price I would do it in a heartbeat. Heck, I'd buy it again at $34k.

Thanks for all the responses. I have continued to shop around and that is definitely the best deal out there. The more I keep shopping and test driving, the more I get the itch to ditch the 99 and go with a new Screw. Just can't beat that new truck smell!

firstimeFord,
Sounds like a pretty good deal. Remember Ford has $2500.00 rebates right now. Not sure when it is on the Screw. Dealers wouldn't sell it to lose money. Ask them about the rebate. Sounds like a great deal but I'd bet they are taking the rebate and that means you can't get the great low apr. Good luck you'll love the Screw

Go for a new Harley Super Crew Man!!
Make sure you get the rebate after you get the price of the truck.
I really like -I mean LOVE my super crew. It does everything my f350 can do except pass a gas station.
