SAE or Metric?????

Okay, this is probably a stupid question but I'll ask anyway. What are the fasteners on our trucks...SAE or Metric?? I've always assumed all US cars were SAE and all imports were Metric but now I'm not sure. I've been using both pretty interchangeably on my SCrew, as long as it was a good fit over the nut/bolt head.

so are we

The USA was sapposed to convert completely over to metric also. Didnt happen though. I know the manual transmission uses metric while the body panels in the front of the truck use english. the rear end housing uses english too.

It usually depends on where the component or subassymbly was manufactured.
