Angry Question regarding Stock CD player for a 2001 SCREW

If I play CD's while the heater is cranking out the warm air, the CD player will shut down from overheat in about 10-20 minutes.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The system is the stock in dash CD player. Operates fine other than this issue.

I've read on this board where others have had the problem, and Ford has corrected it... there may even be a TSB out on it. I've not had the problem, but I have a 6-CD changer.

Good luck

There was a re-design that added a fan to the factory in-dash cd player for the problem you are describing.

This is a fairly common problem and your dealer or Visteon repair center should be aware of it.

Good Luck!
