screw from Labelle, FL?
screw from Labelle, FL?
hi, i saw a screw at a dealership here in town, but the price is extremely low. 2001, xlt, 4x4, 5.4, silver with pinstriping. not sure about the mileage. they only want $22995 for it. i ran a carfax on it, and it was registered in Labelle, FL last october. was this anybody's screw on here? is there something wrong with it that they would sell it that cheaply? i havent had a chance to stop and inquire about it, just thought i would ask you guys. thanks!!
labelle is a very, very agricultural area, it is in the Belle Glade area of Florida, and is known for its mucky soil for growing citrus and suger cane.. if the truck is a 4x4 check it out carefully, it may have had allot of off road use in a farming enviorment, its interior may have suffered from the black characteristics of the muck... being from florida myself, i know the boys in the Glades really use their trucks as they were intended,, or.... perhpas its just a good deal.. look over the truck carefully and check for signs of heavy off road use or commercial use.
Have the dealer take off one of the rear tail lights. We've discovered that it gets packed with debris. If it's filled with dirt, it will help give you some idea of what the truck's been through.
If it's got a bedliner, make sure you get a look underneath it. One of the frequent posters bought a used SC that appeared to be perfect until he removed the liner. The bed looked like it was used by the typical contractor. Totally scratched and dented. Looked like what an unlined truck from the 70s would look like 30 years later.

thanks for the replies...
i went by and looked at it today for the first time in daylight. walked up, looked at the drivers door and fender, and walked away. that thing was pretty banged up. huge dent/scratch down the drivers side, scratches all over it, and the warranty was for 30 days, with the dealership only paying 25% repairs, which i think is probably a bad sign. usually they at least go half. i guess i will just have to wait on getting a screw until another day...anyway, thanks again for your advice!!
