Thumbs up Screw comes out on top!

I was at my gym and I was reading a motor trend which matched the 1500hd crew cab, toyota tundra, the new ram, and the king ranch screw up against each other and the KR SCREW came out on top. All though each excelled in different catagories, the screw consistantly came in first or second! Here is a quick wrap up of the article: The toyota was an off road expert, the 1500hd could pull a house, and the ram sucked all over. KR screw was great at towing, breaking, and acceleration. They said that it was virtually impossible to get it stuck as well. All said and done the only thing that they disliked was the price but if they would have tested an xlt it would have been 8 to 10 grand cheaper. For those who want the performance specs they had the KR screw 0-60 at 9.6 and the 1/4 mile at 16.9 I think.

Great to hear. We always need some good "buyer's reinforcement". What issue of Motor Trend was the article in? I'd like to see it.

It's in the March issue. Notice that they used specs for the '02, like the optional rear bench, but tested a '01. It still had the non-automatic climate control unit. They also referred to the 5.4 as a 5.7 several times. I know this may sound as if I'm nit-picking the article to death, but it did seem as if they rushed it through without proofreading it. I did enjoy the outcome. I agree, they should've used a xlt if money was going to be an issue. Even a lariat would have saved a couple thousand and they could have the heated seats that they liked so much. I use mine every morning now that it has turned cold.

true

They should have opt. for the Lariat. But no matter ford won.
If you look at the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times they differ from the artical than what the back stated. The 1500HD was the quickest in the artical but in the listings at theback of the artical the ford was on top.
Also look at the Ford rear end, it's a standard 3.55's witch is the lowest ratio of them all. It still won, states the back of the artical.

The Triton is the only engine that can pull 3.55's that well at low end. 350ft.lbs. at only 2500rpms.
