roll top cover for screw?
Has anyone tried one of those roll top covers for their screw bed? i just got my crew and i think it would be a good product for me if it doesnt leak. a hard cover would be nice but i think it would be a hassle to remove on a regular basis. thanks!
JerPamB,
I looked at the roll top covers. Two things I didn't like. You need to find one on a SCrew to see how much of the bed you lose from side to side. The roll has a rail support that encroaches on the bedspace. Too much for me. Also, I have a neighbor with one on his SCab (a few years old) and he has trouble with it leaking. However, others on the board have them and like what they do, so it's a matter of taste.
I ended up with the Advance folding hardcover. Provides security, weatherproof (no leaking problems over the past year) and very easy for one person to operate/remove. Paid $500. I've got pics in my album. Click on the link under my sig.

I just researched this a few weeks ago and settled on the Retrax Roll Top Cover for two main reasons. 1) the rails are set above and to the edge of the bed allowing full use of the space (others were aligned with the box extender posts so you lost quite a bit). 2) The unit rolls over the tailgate and seals with weather proofing (other pushed up against the tailgate). It wasn't cheap because the SuperCrew covers are a custom order and take a little time, but mine should be here next week. I will let you know how it turns out. If you talk to Randy @ 877-765-5867, he can e-mail you some SCrew pictures and a video of how it rolls.
