Service Dept.
Well, they replayced my Instrument cluster and drivers seat today. Oddly enough, they had to have both keys, and they had to guesstemate the mileage. Is the odometer equiped with it's own eprom chip or something not attached to the computer. Anyway, I when I got home, I noticed 5 small chips on the right side, and they smoked in my truck. What should I do now? The service manager got the job done, and I was happy with his help. But I don't smoke anymore and the chips in the paint drive me crazy.
Thanks,
Rick

suck's they treat your truck like you wouldn't. i dont smoke also. not sure why they replaced your cluster. but they should have ordered your new one with your mileage on it. unless it was not working. they can read it with there scan tool if the display is out. but you must have two key's to reprogram the new cluster. it's called the hec. that is the anti teft module. and the pat's key's are programed into it. you can not program just one key. you need two. and if you have any spare's at your house. they do not work now. you can program them yourself. as long as you have two key's that are programed. it's called spare key programing. and your owner's manuel will help you with this. and for the paint chip's, let them know. talk to your advisor. a good advisor will make thing's ok with you. good luck.
I would complain about the paint chips and get them fixed as far as the smoking goes, well not much to do other than complain. I would be very upset as I don't even like people smoking NEAR my truck!
