I dont know when, but Im in the process of finding a S`Crew. Been looking for the past few days now. As soon as I find a decent deal in black with all the goodies I want Ill be ditching the goofball Expedition for a S`Crew like its on fire.
Randy,
I went to my buddies house last night to see his new S'Crew...Black Lariet captains chairs....grey trim.....but get this..no steps...solid rear window.........and the new ones that have electronic air....the only thing on the overhead console is the compass...looks kind of strange not seeing the outside air temp there.....,instead its down on the dash by the air controls........

Yeah Ive been looking at several. Used and New. People around here suck with trade ins so Im going to sell the Expy outright before I make any deals, one dealer tried to sell me a 4x4 Demo with 3400 miles on it for 35 K. So needless to say my car buying experience in Washington sucks thus far.
Trade-ins really suck. No question. Especially now that the marked it glutted with them.
I'm happy with my '01 SCr (Screw just sounds so negative or vulgar to me). Glad I got it instead of the '02. The '01 was a leftover, I guess it's called. I'm not a fan of ATC a/c, so I try to avoid it. It's getting harder and harder, though.
You'll love this about the rear doors on the SCr. Even if you don't flip the child locks, the rear doors still can't be opened unless you either click the power lock switch (only on the front doors), or pull up on the buttons (towards the front of the rear doors). It just makes it that much less likely that a child will open the rear doors accidentally.
Try to get a Lariat. The remoteless entry key pad is damned handy. I don't suggest you do this, but you can actually leave the engine running and lock/unlock the doors using the keypad.

That is what I like about the keypad - pull up to the gas station in the morning when it is real cold outside, leave the engine (and the heat) running, lock the doors, go get your beverage of choice, come back and the truck is nice and toasty inside. Also good in the summer time when the dog comes along for a ride and it is hot outside - lock her in and leave the air running for her!! Damn she is spoiled
Dennis/LC,
If the only reason to get a lariet is the keypad, do it yourself...
As far as leaving the motor running, get a remote starter, when you leave the truck ,while its running, activate the remote start, take the keys out and its stays running....now, no one can take it even if they break the glass

Hey S'CrewLoose,
What would happen if your truck is running via a remote starter, you unlock the door, get in and put the key into the ignition switch and crank it over? Does the remote starter system over-ride the start request after the engine is running? I hope that's the way it works 'cause if not then I can see the starter and ring gear going screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech crunch crunch, if you know what I mean.

The starter lockout takes care of that problem. I have the same thing on mine, it's very nice, because sometimes I forget and turn the key all the way. Lucky I have the starter lockout, otherwise I would be grinding gears all the time.
Dave,
You have to trian yourself to not turn it past "ON"......one other note: with the PATS key, if you activaite a safety, like stepping on the brake pedal for instance, you have to wait a minute for the computer to clear before you can start the truck....

Speaking of the PATS, how do these remote starters overide the security? I've heard some systems, you need to sacrifice the chip in a key. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of the PATS? Do some other systems have a way around this?
Well I found it. Nice S`Crew Black/Dark Graphite interior. Captains chairs. All the crap I wanted some I dont need. Fairly decent price. Got a fella commin down tonight to look at the Expy. Hopefully I can swing a deal Ill keep you fellers in the low down!
